Angry wastegate solenoid nipple broke-now FUEL CUT&OVERBOOST HELP!!

ok so i went to do the ol bcs restrictor removal with a screw and wound up braking a nippe off the the stupid solenoid. see...

so i went ahead and took the two vaccum lines that were attached to the solenoid and put them together like this if you can see... i just used the broken off nipple which prolly leaks badly which may be causing my situation

needless to say, i took it for a spin and holy $hit! first off the boost skyrocketed 20+ psi and fuel cut hit when i tried flooring it in 2nd gear after the tires let loose. i have no boost controller or basically anything else just an intake thats it. so is having those two vaccum lines connected with the broken off nipple a bad idea? should i just run a line from the wastegate actuator to the nipple on the compressor housing? or would that make me hella overboost also? i dont understand why it is doing this and i dont want to buy a new wastegate solenoid cause there like $60 that i dont have. would getting a manual boost controller help this situation? thanks for any help -Ryan

Re: wastegate solenoid nipple broke-now FUEL CUT&OVERBOOST HELP!!

i broke the nipple off of mine once....had my dad take it in to work and the threaded a nipple into it, worked great....you can try doing the same. find a nipple small enough (probably try lowe's or somewhere) and get it in there. or just make a home made boost controller

Re: wastegate solenoid nipple broke-now FUEL CUT&OVERBOOST HELP!!

i wont have money enough to get a boost controller til like the 6th of may so i dont know about that, im thinking i need to change a line here from the turbo compressor side to the WG actuator so theres no leak and it bypasses the crap connection i have insted of the solenoid. any comments on what i can do to prevent overboost?

Get a Dejon tool MBC. They are like $50, or you could make your own.

I've had my JoeP MBC for a year now. Spikes aren't bad at all, and works like a charm. $45 shipped with all required accessories when I got it...

Seems? Do you have a boost gauge? It should run 7psi, but you did the right thing. If you can not floor it all the time, there wouldn't be a problem... this way you won't break anything.

Just a warning... I have never installed it so I don't know it's quality....I never had a boost guage to tune it in when I got it and when I did get a boost guage I kinda had forgot about it and had some other issues to deal with at the time... but anyways if ya want it let me know...
