Polyphony Bologna

As much as I like the Gran Turismo series, several things piss me off that could be better.

In the GT4 installment, two things are unwarranted. First of all, the 5 second penalty doesn’t bother me when I make a mistake, but when I take a corner slightly slower than I can, then the opposing car hits me….. Give me a break. Why do I get the penalty? Dis Sony have game testers play this that ever drove real cars?

The second things goes with the obvious prejudice the Japanese company has for American cars. There are so many good one out there, and even when they include them, they are whimpy!

Being an owner of a 2000 Camaro Z28, the game plays the top speed properly, but the real car has far stronger low end torque than the game gives the SS version of the same thing. The real 2005 Ford GT, stock, will do 235 MPH, but you have to go full mode to do this in the game! Then… the brakes suck. I’ll bet the real one is better.

Why do we get a bazillion versions of Toyotas, Nissans, etc… What about the Rouch Mustang, SLP Camaros, etc? What about the 2002 Firebird, which is the 2nd car in history to be able to break 10 seconds in NHRA Stock car class? The first is the 1969 Camaro SS. How about some Firehawks?

Then the options…. Stage 4 turbo for Rice Burners, but almost nothing for US cars. I seen a LS1 engine that they put in Holdens, Firebirds, Camaros, and Corvettes modified with dual T56 Turbos pushing 1300 HP. I seen a 5.4 Liter Mustang pushed to 1200 HP!

Oh well…. ‘’’Vent off’’’

you know for the game to work with a controller well, they had to put some handling handicaps in it so when you press X it doens't just peel out constantly, you are able to turn these settings off and have your car how you want it if you looked at the game, plus with then being in japan, im not surprised they dont have that many american cars, there aren't very many chances for them to test them or anything, plus growing up around something your around all your life, your gowing to put those things in your game, it would be the same way if americans made a version of gran turismo, there would be american cars, and not so many imported cars. also, every car in teh game was tuned right down to the very last detail like the real counterpart, if the brakes were bad in the game, most likely they suck in the real car, they're not going to be great just because "you bet"

Re: Polyphony Bologna

yea, they didnt really get a good selection of US cars, i would really have liked to see more cadillacs since they recently redid their whole line of vehicles within the past few years... that really dissapointed me... and honestly, how many 350Z and Skyline versions do we need... i havent even used any of them anyways...

I agree. I would like to see a 1994 Mustang GT in a convertible, and a newer Rouche Mustang. Besides, in real life, you can use a stroiker kit (Displacement Up) and go around 6500 cc from that 1994 351 Windsor (5766 cc) engine....

Then in 1969, there was a Belvadere with the 426 Wedge that was so hot from the factory, after a few more than 100 were sold, they were forced to 'detune' the engines. More sold in '70, and were forced to detune again. A total of 300something were sold though 3 years.

Don't get me started on the old 50's & 60's Hemi's that can be bored forever and supercharged so hot that those old blocks are still used by some.

Oh... the 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R is available in the Used Cars during weeks 7, 10, 21, 23, 24, 26, 27, 33, 37, 38, 46, 47, 48, 54.....

Sorry, my verification on used cars ends at week 54. It in 'Like New" condition with 6.2 miles on week 24.... Buy it then if you want it. It comes in only one color, Performance Red.

Delorian? I don't see it as anything special. Is it revived or does GT4 have the year wrong. Shouldn't it be 1984, or about then?

Maybe I'm wrong, but some still used the 5.7 till 95 as well?

Oh well... Maybe you know Modified? was the same Winsor block used in the newer 5.0's (302) as the 5.7's (351?) Over time, these blocks came in at least 3 deck heights. The 5.7's came with a tall enough block after the first few years that was tall enough to put a real nice stroker kit in. If the newer 5.0's used the same deck height, then they can go 6.5+ liters as well!

I owned a 1977 Firebird Esprit with the optional 350 Oldsmobile engine. It had a 2.41 rear axle and would, in all hosesty, do 165+ MPH!

That would be a nice car to see in beefed up mode in this GT5.
