Question front lower Control Arm Bushings

i need to change my front lower Control Arm Bushings....

do i need to remove the control arm completely???
what is the basic procedure to do this???
do i need any special tools???

My car is Cavalier 1996

Ok... i have to laugh at this one. Have you looked at where the bushings are located? You have to remove your lower ball joint, sway bar if applicable, and the bolts that run through your control arm. Id's suggest some prothane Polyeurathane replacements. I hear those are nice. Plan on this being a real mother F&(ker. Also a work bench vice will help you out alot. Brose www.j-body.org in the suspension forum, someone reacently made a post and how-to.

Are you sure you don't mean stabilizer bar bushings? But to answer the original question yes the control arm must be removed, and I would take it to an automotive machine shop (around here there is a NAPA machine shop) to have the bushings replaced. Like classicroc says it can be a real PITA.

its fixed now... it cost me 200$ (garage)
