It's been along time coming, but finally we got to clash...
dun dun dunnnn Yeah, ok... so it's not like a big rivalry between us. He's a cool dude to hang out with and shoot the shit. He brought along his buddies Gtech Pro so we could do some 'testing' with my car. So after about a half hour of BS and calibrating the Gtech Pro for my car, we go to a super top secret road to do our 'acceleration testing'. Well, first run... I forgot to turn the boost up to max... so a 7psi run got me like 14.3 @ 96 mph or some shit with a crappy ass launch. Soon as I shifted to 2nd I realised... the car didn't have the gumption it usually did. And look at my boost controller and noticed I was on low boost. DOH! Oh well, So we back it up with a 15psi run. I believe that run was 13.7? @ 104mph? With a shitty 2.3 60ft or something. It was crap... crapfully crap. Last run, didn't want to bring too much attention so the 3rd time had to be the charm. This time I launched at a lower RPM and slipped the clutch a bit more. This got me a 13.4 @ 106mph with a 2.2 60ft... and according to the Gtech a 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. My calculations are pretty close, I figured the absolute best was 12.8... and 13 flat with me driving. If Bobby wasn't in the car... I might of done a 13.2 ish... But lack of traction from shitty tires and no LSD keeps me from hooking up good. And... today was the first time I've driven the car in 2 months... my buddy changed the throttle body setup slightly, so it's a bit easier to push the pedal. It used to be a bit stiffer in comparison so the "easy push" pedal is still kinda throwing me off. Ah well... gotta re-learn how to drive it again. Now, leaving our super secret testing grounds Bobby and I got a chance to line up slightly at a light. We went from like a 5-10mph roll, not sure which. It wasn't fast at all. I took off in 1st gear and shifted to 2nd... and I was slighhtly ahead and let off as I looked to my right to see where Bobby was... He was right in my blind spot so I was like "wtf...we're he go...." then VROOM he goes sling shotting past me so I had to play catch up. He was about a car length ahead of me at the end of I'd say 100mph. Damn... Then, we hung out some more... then It was time to leave. We hit the freeway... Bobby got to my left and at about 70mph or so... I wait for him to Honk it off...cause I don't have a horn. He does a few short honks... then Honk... Honk.... then nothing.. I was waiting for that last honk... and anticipated it...so I started going... thinking he was gonna honk...but he didn't... so... I partially let off.. and he took off.. and I was left behind playing catch up again... once again I was like a car length behind at like 115mph or so. Dammit... ![]() Then Bobby got off the freeway to go home... I brought my buddy along to hang out as well... he rode with me the entire time, except for the GTech stuff, Bobby rode with me. Cause I didn't know how to work the GTech... so I had to have him ride shotty. Fun times... glad I was pretty close in my guess as to what the Z runs. Bobby, if you've got the exact times... please post em. I don't remember all the little details.

Re: The Z returns;2000LS1Z28 and I meet...
[email protected] was his most recent run I believe. Not sure if that is his best though.
Sounds like a good time!!!

hmmmmm interesting report. you guys really need to have a more legit run, but judging from that, you two are pretty evenly matched. but is bobby's WS6 as fast as a Z06 or not even close?

Good times on the gtech. I would expect the track to yield some better results for you.

Re: The Z returns;2000LS1Z28 and I meet...
Good runs Matty, but I didn't wait for you to get off of it the second time (Tell the truth). I walked your car
Sheesh, does no one except losing like I do. Anyways, your times are accurate, except that you were trapping at 106 mph. You would've trapped at 107-108 if you didn't keep short shifting.Matty is a good driver though. His car's tires are a joke. I swear I haven't seen tires that thin since I rode in a Corolla (205 tires). I think next time i'll just have you take off first, and then i'll just run away from you In short i'll take that as a win.

No... You didn't do a third honk... at the pace you were honking, I got on it right when that third honk shoulda been...but I let off... wondering were that third honk was... then you took off... I was like "ok... readdy.... Go!....wait.... *VROOOMM*...aww..dammit. " ![]() Tires, yeah... 205/50R15... and cheapo ones from like Pepboys. When I bought them I never thought I'd be doubling my wheel horsepower. Old motor they worked beautiful. New motor... not so much. And I wasn't short shifting, The SR20's redline is 7500, but it doesn't make power up there... it stops making real power around 6500. I don't remember where I was shifting... I think close to 6800. Don't matter, I was suprised I didn't miss a shift. When I first got into the car earlier that afternoon, I went to leave my buddies shop and almost stalled it cause I was just pushing in the Brakes and no clutch. I was like "Oh yeah... clutch... duh."
