89 rs camaro VATS problem

I have an 89 rs camaro. It was running fine. parked it and the battery
ran down. When I charged it up it wouldn't even crank. It is showing
a code 53 (VATS) code. I have tried everything and everyone. It's like
somekind of taboo when you say VATS to anyone. Someone out there
has to know something about this system . Please someone help before
I push my car off a cliff. Someone told me I could replace the vats module and have the matching key that it would solve the problem but
I can't even find these parts other than new ones. HELLLLLLLLLLLP!

The most common problem with VATS lies inside the lock cylinder.. When you insert your key, it measures the resistance of the pellet in your key and if its the correct value, it allows your car to start.. But the two wires that go into the lock cylinder are very very small and break easily.. The best way to test this is as follows..

use a ohmmeter and check the resistance of the pellet in your key, and write it down

Insert the key into the ignition, go down to the base of the steerting column, and find two very small white wires with an orange jacket, unhook the connector and test the resistance between the two terminals on the connector coming out of the steering column.. it should be the same as your key..

Sorry, strike one. I've checked that one a long time ago and have already replaced it. This problem lies much much deeper. I am completely locked out and it won't even crank. Key is fine cylinder is fine resistance matches on key and cylinder, wires are fine. So now what? I have been working on this for months and am ready to pull my hair out. I know it can't possibly that complicated. Doesnt anyone have any answers. PLEASE!
