Water injection systems

Hey,
I ran across this web wite and was wondering if anyone has herd of it. Has anyone tried it and if so, what kind of improvements did you see? Also, can you think of any problems this might cause? I am really interested to see if anyone has any experience with these. Here is the link to the web site http://aquatune.com/index.asp.
Thanks,
Jimmy Dager

Re: Water injection systems

Have you ever seen an engine that has had a blown head gasket on one cylinder. It is shiny and clean while the other's are nasty and have build up all over them. this works under the same principal I would say....steam cleaning...

I have sprayed water in my TBI before to "steam clean" the truck.

Re: Water injection systems

i don't know.....it would be interesting to see on a vehicle. i wouldn't put it on my truck untill I actually saw how it worked and had talked to some people who tried it. But if it does what it says it does, it would be pretty neat!

This is old technology. WW2 Fighter aircraft radial engines (like the 18 cylinder Wasp engine in the Corsairs, Hellcats, Wildcats...etc.)used in alot. It actted like a nitrous oxide injection.

Re: Water injection systems

I heard that this will make you exhaust pipes rust out at an accelerated rate.

I have been running my own designed water injection set-up for over a year now.

It is mainly used on Turbo/Supercharged applications where the Intake Air gets 'Superheated' by the compressor. Naturally Aspirated engines won't benefit the same way.

When used correctly, no damaging effects occur.

Then you add alcohol...
