rear hatch/ int. light problems.

my rear hatch wont open. When i try to open it with the key, only the left side unlatches, the right wont unlatch. When i try to use the button underneath the dash, it's loose and just wiggles around with no resistance.

Also, the light in the car only comes on when the passenger door is open, and won't come on when the drivers door is open, is that probably just the contacts on the door?
