Vibrations at higher speeds.

I have a 98 Dakota 4x4. I get vibrations, mostly felt in the stick, but can be felt in the body when I reach speeds between 50 and 65 mph. The vibrations seem to dissapear beyond 65 mph. Any suggestions as to what this could be?

Ball joints or something. It could also be a lose tranny bolt, best advice have someone look at it and see what they say. Check your lug nuts too, could be a lose wheel.

REPLY to above: A friend of mine just had this problem w/a Ford 150. Turned out to be a problem w/exhaust system loosening up, and the muffler dragging on the drive shaft. It carved a groove in the drive shaft, eventually; throwing it off balance. Had the drive shaft and universal joints, replaced. It seems it might have been bad enough of a shake that he has to have the rear end checked out, now. Might have worn out the gear in the "pumpkin" of the rear axle prematurely.
I, had a similar symptom in a car once. Turned out that I had to have the tires spin balanced ON THE CAR to resolve the problem. Wonder if your problem could be this simple? Is the vehicle aligned, properly?

Usually a vibration between 45 and 65 is tire related

you mentioned that it was felt mostly in the stick. If you've had a clutch job done, make sure the shifter is bolted tightly to the transmission. Also, make sure your bellhousing bolts and subframe bolts are properly tightened.
