05 mazda 3 s fog lights

so i just got my 3 a few days ago. i hate how on this car and most other cars, the headlights have to be on for the fog lights to come on. is there any way to convert this so the fog lights come on with the running lights? if so, please let me know. i like to drive around during the day with my running lights and fog lights on, but cant. thanks for any help.

I'd like to do the same, because fog lights were meant to be used by themselves when it is....surprise!: foggy outside! Having the headlights on at the same time defeats the purpose of the lower-positioned foglights. It is amazing that a car company that touts itself as a sportscar company will not give the driver the complete control necessary for safe and effective driving.

It has to do with the various state and federal laws the the auto companies must follow.

What if I were to just wire my fog lights in with my running lights? Would this work? It would eliminate the use of the switch inside, and there would be no way to turn the fog lights off if you wanted to. But would this work?
