90 Cavalier Z24 will not start

I parked My 90 Z after work and the next day it would not start. I replaced the cam shaft sensor and the I have spark to the plugs and I hear the fuel pump cut on when the ignition is turned on. The car turns over like it is not getting fire. The timing belt was replaced about 40,000 miles ago. Thanks for the help and great forum.

Are you getting fuel to the injectors? If you are then you have a timing issue, if not check your fuel filter, pressure regulator, and your IAC valve(could be stuck) Good Luck.

Thanks, I will check all and I hope I can get it running. I am giving it to my daughter for her first car and I think I will replace everything. Once again, Thanks a million.

Re: 90 Cavalier Z24 will not start

Well I replaced everything that was listed that could have been a potential problem and it still will not start. Have spark and 42 lbs of fuel pressure car still turns over like there is no spark. Any other suggestions? This thing is driving me crazy, lol. Thanks for the help

I have an 89 Z24 and had the same problem, turns out it was the crankshaft sensor.

lie down underneath the car and have a buddy turn the key. Listen for the fuel pump priming. Also check if u can smell fuel in the engine bay. If the fuel pumps working and the you can smell fuel I bet its your coil pack. Also check your plug wires and plugs. Check your battery as well
