98 astro powerlocks

My power locks lock and unlock by themselves whether running or not after a very rainy day. Does anybody know where to start looking? Thanks

Re: 98 astro powerlocks

There have been a few other posts here I believe about power locks freaking out. Try a search here in the forum.
Water's apparantly getting in somewhere and closing a circuit (short). Start with the cheap stuff. Trace your way around the weather stripping on the door. Use your fingers to try to move the rubber. The adhesive gives out. I've had to reglue several feet of mine. Also there is a corrugated "duct" which contains all the wiring from the door into the body of the van. Take a close look at this for cracks. Check the weather stripping around the window as well. Given any opportunity, water will find its way in. That's my two cents, and that might be all it's worth.

My 95 astro locks would lock or unlock at times on there own. I had a bad switch on my passenger side. After replacement, all worked fine.
