decal question

Quick question regarding decals.

I attempted to start putting the decals on my Volvo BTCC and ran into a minor problem. The decal itself is BIGGER than the space. So it actually runs over onto the side windows. Do you guys and girls cut the decal smaller or do you wrap it so it hides? How do you make the clear part of the decal dissapear?

Q.tip

ps -- qtips are my favorite tool for decals.

Generally, It's a good idea to carefully "trim" around the edges (as close to the coloured part of the of the decal as you dare) with a sharp X-11 blade *before* you put it into the water.

If you've already applied the decal and the clear part is showing, you will need wait until the decal is properly dried then trim the decal *extremely carefully* whilst on the model using the same X-11.

(Better to trim it on the coloured plastic, not on the transparent in this case - It'll be harder to see, if you cut too deep).

Some models are now being released where you can peel the transparent "carrier-film" off altogether, once the decal is properly dry.

Lets hope this becomes the norm rather than the exception, eh?

Regards
Mark
