2005 Impala Interior Switch Question

My 2005 Impala came with bench seats in the front and the shifter is on the steering column. I want to change my interior to have two buckets seats in front and the console separating the seats. I do not want to remove the shifter. I was hoping to use the console between the seats to install my headunit and switches for lights etc. Do you think that this would be an easy switch? This is of course assuming I can find bucket seats secondhand somewhere at a reasonable price...

did you buy or lease and if you leased would you be returning the bench seat cause if you were you would have 4 holes to fill and patch

hard no
worth it depends

center console and seats $500.00-800.00
then when you trade in you're Impala your stuck with at least on set of seats

I didn't see anything on lease? Anywho, Have part numbers for that stuff monster? I am needing something to fill the empty space between my seats in my cruiser.

Can't say i've known many people with leases that have modified cars. Would just seem silly if your returning the car in X-Many years.

I'll either get a console out of a newer impala or a police console like the car once had. I'll just be glad to have a cup holder again

Re: 2005 Impala Interior Switch Question

Does anyone know if the seats will bolt right in or if there is modification needed to the tracks?

you might need to drill 4 new holes im not sure if the bench seat has on bracket on each side or if it bolts in like the buckets

I believe, the only difference in the bench seat and the bucket seats. The bench seat is a 60/40. Meaning the drivers seat is a little bit bigger and goes over the hump in the middle and it has the arm rest attached to it. The passenger seat is just a regualr bucket seat. You might be able to find a matching drivers seat and just replace it because the driver seat is what makes it a bench seat.....and leave the passenger seat along since it's already a bucket seat. I hope this makes sense...i have a hard time trying to put my thought in writing....lol

I'd have to really look at the difference between the two, but yes you could do that in theory. The driver seat is likely mounted a little different to account for covering the hump... maybe... Meh I'll compare when I actually know something, I'll have to look at the '03 with the bench, when its back. . .

I think they have the same bolt and track design, as far as being able to mount a bucket seat in place of the bench designed driver seat. I think it's going to be easier then you think. Just thought i would throw in some encouragment...
