Still Screwy Electrical Issue (Speed Sensor)

95 s-10, 4.3 2WD Auto. Couple weeks ago I posted with no results about speed sensor code. Anyhow reset the ecm by pulling the fuse. Son drove it with no problems. Today I drove it. Backed up, put foot on brake & brake light & ABS light comes on briefly. Did the same thing last time but when I turned on the heater the same lights came on. Code says speed sensor. Now in addition to that they come on every time I put my foot on the brake. Also tranny downshifts & speedo goes to zero at the same time but not everytime. Bad Ground somewhere maybe?

So have you replaced the speed sensor? That is your problem.

i would check all grounds for the lights, the heater, body to frame, body to battery, and body to engine ( on tranny bolt on the top driverside to below the wiper motor ) first, if you are unsure if they are a bad connection then replace the wire eyelet or the braided wire ( engine to body ground )

Thanks Smokey,
I had the kid (He's doin all the work) remove clean and reinstall all the grounds & the problem is still there, but I forgot about the one ground from the tranny to the firewall.I have him do that one too. I haven't replaced the speed sensor yet because of the common causes of the symtom makes me lean towards a common ground problem. If that don't work I will replace the sensor.

Thanks,
Gene
