smells like shit

hi, today is friday, i just got off work, and like some people when they get off work on friday, they get a little rush of excitment flowing through their veins, today my rush of excitment caused me to drive home aggressivly, i was going up over a hill and layed my foot into and a couple seconds later i smelled something that smelled like total shit, i thought i may have been another vehicle around me but a few minutes later i layed my foot into it again, and smelled the exact same smell, kinda like rotten something, i did a forum search of rotten smells and found only one, it said the cause would be the catalyic converter, could this be true?? if this is true that isnt too serious of a problem is it??

Did you have your AC on? I know sometimes when my AC is on and I get into it kinda rough it reaks like dead ass for some reason. I dont even remember running over any dead ass though.

If it smells like rotten eggs, it a good sign the cat converter is doing it's job, most times.
I've been told by mechs that some hard driving will cause the oxygen sensor to effect the vehicle in such a manner that a smell very much like hair burning will result when op temps go up.
I once drove a Neon that had this problem (burning hair smell), and.....well...lets just say the Neon "passed on"...lol

If it is auto I don't know, if you lay into it on a manual I know I downshift first to get better acceleration. If it is a manual and you are working your clutch it could just be that, alot of times a hard worked clutch will smell like death in the form of every animal ever.

If your driving, would shouldn't be able to smell your exhaust, unless you have a leak somewhere. So i doubt it was from your cat. I have had a few things do things like this. I found some sort of tape on my exhaust pipe just behind the flex pipe and would smell like shit after accelerating. Could have been due to stress put on the tranny. If there was anything gunked up on that bitch and you over worked it, i have gotten a smell from that before. Ever get your tranny flushed?

nope, no dead animals under the hood, nothing thrown in the exhaust, its not an automatic, its a manual, i didnt beat the hell out of the clutch i dont think, what i did (at least the first time) is got going, had it in second gear till about 3000, then layed into it, i didnt downshift or make the car jerk or anything..., i dont think i have an exhaust leak, if so it HAS to be small, you can walk 20 feet away from my car and not hear it running, its VERY quiet, even after 85000 miles, its extremely quiet, and finally it doesnt smell anything like vagina, fresh clean vagina or rotten smelly vagina, thats definetly not the smell, a simple backseat shampooing would take care of that though, and also, CRJ, ive never had my tranny flushed, i got the car in november and havent done anything but oil changes, do you think after 85000 miles i should flush it or do you maybe think the dealership/previous owner had done that already, how often are you supposed to flush a manual tranny anyways??, also when i change the oil after 3000 miles its still completely full and looks just about as clean as it did fresh, so im sure thats a good sign...

I've also heard it could be sulfur content in the fuel, and to try changing brands of fuel, who knows.
