99 GrandAm Delco Radio volume nob

Sorry if this has been posted already somewhere, but on my 99 Grand Am's Delco radio when I go to turn the volume down or up it reacts in the opposite, or just doesn't make any change at all. Quite frusterating, any help?

well, outside of pulling the unit apart for a bad potentiometer in the knob, you could try to pull the knob itself off, and spray what you can see with some elctrical contact cleaner or possibly just some compressed air.

I had this problem before on a 97 sunfire gt i used to have. It was really bad and very irritating, however, I just tended more to use the steering wheel volume buttons. I now have a 2000 grand am gt and I've occasionally noticed this problem, but nowhere near how bad it was on my sunfire.
