A run in w/a 3.5 Altima SE tonight & others

I was drivin home from work and mindin my own business when i noticed a altima at a light next to me with a guy bumpin to some hip hop hits, as was i, but not really movin around like he was. Anyway, the light turns green and i take off kind of fast, and he just drives normally. A trailblazer pulls out infront of me a lil ways n keeps goin slow while i'm already doin about 40ish, 'bout halfway thru second, and cut over, nailin the gas completely. i kind of cut off this guy as he was startin to speed up a lil, and he just keeps up with me as i go thru the intersection at about 75 mph with him followin relatively close behind.

I get over and he paces next to me, while i'm in 5th goin approx. 60 mph. He speeds up a lil, so i do as well. I see him floor it, since his car picked up a lil more in the front end, so i downshift to third and take chase. i run third all the way out to about 90 mph, and by that time he pulled just ahead of me.

We both slow down since we're passin by the police station, and notice that he's got a temp tag and a 3.5SE badge right next to it. I pull up next to him after the station and keep it in 5th, side by side, then give it a lil gas to bait him to run again. he starts to speed up a lil as well, then floors it, and i drop to third again and he gets up so that he just passed me n we both let off. again this was from about 60-90.

we pull up to a redlight and i'm rollin at like 1-2 mph, and he doesn't bother to pull in behind me, he pulls in behind a older intrepid that had yet another teen bumpin to some hip hop. Light turns green, and i spin tires a little and take off, look in my rear view mirror and see that the Altima pulls out from behind the intrepid to give chase. I shift to second hard and chirp the tires, and run second all the way out. I notice that surprisingly, he never pulled on me at all. I'm doubting slightly that he wasn't pushin the pedal thru the floor tryin to catch up to me again, but i think i did pretty good with keepin him back there n e way.

He turns at the next red light, and i look in my mirror and see a car with yellow fogs cut to the other lane. I smile and take off from this light, chirpin off the line and second. At the next red light i see a car cut across to the other lane, then a car turns into a neighborhood. The car that cut across to the other lane flashes his lights, and i see the pair of headlights that were uncovered by the turning car as well as the car with the yellow fogs comin up fast, with the car that flashed his lights a lil behind them.

The two cut to the lane that the guy that flashed his lights is in, and keep comin up hard. I'm already doin 60 mph in a 50 zone, and they are still comin up on me hard. I wait until they about a length back, then drop to third and floor it. the first car passes me, and i notice that its a newer integra, followed by a older lexus of some sort. By the end of third, i had dropped their roll on me to a crawl, and if i kept going i probably would have started to pass them again, but my turn was coming up so i started to slow down again. The third car passes me, after a minute or so, and it turns out to be some accord.

All in all, i think i did pretty well for a 16 year old car with comin up on 197K mi with only minor mods done to it. (i drive a 89 Maxima SE that came with 160 hp stock...16 years ago)

P.S. If anybody remembers my encounters with a black 98ish eagle talon...the ones where i ran even with him...the car is turbo AWD. One of my buddies has a Eclipse and he sold his CF hood to him as well as his wing. (the guy with the eclipse has been in a magazine or two as well).

nice runs.. the 3.5 altima is the 2nd fastest nissan.. it definitly beats the maxima only bc of weight.. they run high 14s to 15 flat auto. do u think u ran an auto?

I ran a 3.5 Altima in a 2000 Maxima (actually just stayed behind him), and I actually gained a TINY bit. I thought they were quite a bit faster.

im guessin it was auto...altho i couldn't hear him to be sure since my exhaust is so loud lol but i didn't see him shiftin hard like it was a standard trans when he followed me from a light...im just surprised i kept up as well as i did...well i had fun thats all that matters

i keep seeing this black altima v6 around here... i raced him once but didnt get to finish (exit thing) i think he would have dusted me anyway.
