Fastest car ive ever raced... or seen for that matter.

I was rolling down I-205 at like 2am Sunday night, doing about 100. There wasnt a car in sight. I was crusing at 100 for about 10 minutes with very little traffic. Behind me, i see some headlights in the distance, i assumed it was a car that had just gotten onto the freeway. Suprisingly, they kept getting closer and closer. After about a minute or so, he's right behind me. I can't tell what kind of car it is yet, but it has pop-up headlights, so I'm assuming a trans am. He pulls up besides me, and i'm stoked to see that it's a fellow C4 vette. It was a hispanic in his mid fourties i would say. I wave to him, like i do every other vette on i see on the road, and he waves back. We're both cruising at 100 mph side by side still, and i downshift 2 gears, and give it a little gas, he matches me, and we both floor it. I heard this loud ass whine as he passed me, but he was instantly WAY ahead of me.

I went to about 130, but i was never going to catch this guy. He slowed down, and i caught up to him about a mile later, right before the I-5 jct. On the back of his car, i see the ZR-1 badge. I was in shock. ZR-1s are so rare, and to see a supercharged one... I nearly had a heart attack. I'm not sure, but i think an s/c'd LT-5 has to be putting close to 500 to the wheels, doesnt it? And i don't even know if he had any other mods or not.

A similar thing happened to me, I was cruising a highway at 100-110 and saw some sort of Mercedes blow past me, going atleast 40mph faster. Only reason I could tell what it was is because he cut in front of me and I got a straight on look at his bumper.

the ZR-1 wide body was the first GM car to outsprint the GN. They are beautiful cars.

Rarest car I've ever seen was a Ferrari F40 on the highway on my last vacation. FAST! I was going about a buck 10 in the FC and it just flew past me like I wasn't even there. I promptly shit my pants after that incident.

They are a very nice car. My mom's friend owns one and I had some of my senior pictures taken with one. With that I can say I have the coolest pictures of anybody in my class because of that. I've even had the pleasure of riding in it too.

Speaking of suicide there is or was a ZR-1 for sale here at a high end car lot. The car had it cylinders bored, and was claiming somewhere in the neighborhood of 500hp I believe. It was parked right next to a 427 Mallet vette on the lot
