fuel pump rebuild?
Hi I'm just wondering.... since the fuel pump assembly with the basket and everything is such big $$$ has anyone re-built, or just carefully cleaned the basket and just replaced ONLY the pump module?
When mine failed I still have the basket assembly and was thinking about rebuilding it and putting it on a shelf...I guess in my mind if I have a "spare" I think it will never break again OR has anyone just takien the thing out and used an aftermarket electric pump fuel pump? I didn't see anyone else offer up these ideas.... but I thught it was worth asking about RJ |

Re: fuel pump rebuild?
I've never heard of anyone replacing the whole basket before. I've replaced the in tank pump on my 92 Astro and my 89 Caprice. The only thing I replaced was the pumps and the filters/screen in the tank. Both times parts were well under $100.
