I can finally do my PA body lift this weekend because....

My energy suspension poly bushings came in yay!!! My exisiting ones are fairly dry rotted and smootched so I figure I would get the poly ones to compliment the body lift... I ordered the damn thing 4 weeks ago from Jegs (62.00 for the set)

Re: I can finally do my PA body lift this weekend because....

rlith, I replaced all my bushings with the same poly from Energy last summer right after I got my Blazer. Keep a 2x4 handy, and an extra set of hands. First time I did it, took me and a friend about 5 hours. I learned alot, could probably do it in half the time now. Made a big difference, although it is a stiffer, more trucklike ride, really cut down on the side to side sway and very firm on washboard and dirt roads. I run Rancho 5000's, load range C tires and pull a boat and haul dogs around, so no one can complain, and I like it.

Re: I can finally do my PA body lift this weekend because....

Is this kit a lift or just replacement at stock height? I did a 3" body lift on my 89 , 2" suspension , and 31" tires . It gives me a reason to give my lady an extra boost into the seat .I did the lifts alone. very hard to do without a second set of hands. Preloading the front torsion bars can kill you in the blink of the eyes. Rob

I'm doing a 2" PA body lift (max on a second gen) Last body lift I did (my 1st gen) Damn mounts were puked... didn't want to go through that again... I'll eventually end up with 5" trailmaster once I get the v8 in..

Actually those specs are way out dated at this point..

Currently running an Athlon 64 3200 overclocked to 3.1, gig of ram, nvidia 6800 (256k) 2 dvd W's,. 2 160 gig SATA hard drives on a gigabute 400 pro mb...and a sony 160 gig scsi tape backup... Case is still the same though..

rlith, did you get a chance to do your body lift last weekend? Question: when you lifted your 1st gen, what had to be lengthend, ie, brake lines, tranny shift cables, etc. I would appreciate any info you could pass on.
Thanks

Re: I can finally do my PA body lift this weekend because....

Didn't get a chance this past weekend, gonna shoot for this one..(damn work)... Anyway, on my 1st gen the only things that needed to be lengthened for the 3" lift was the shifter linkage (comes with the lengthaning pin, but eventually went away when I switched to the center shift) and the gas filler (which also came with the lift)... Nothing else had to be lengthened. On the second gen (2" max bl made) The only thing that will have to be lengthened is the gas filler neck (part included like the 1st gen) everything else should be fine.

Thanks for the info. Also, I should have asked what body lift did you use on your 1st gen?
