Your Top 5 Hip Hop Albums Of All Time

My Top 5 of all time are:

1. Nas - Illmatic
2. Notorious B.I.G. - Ready 2 Die
3. Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
4. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
5. Mobb Deep - The Infamous

All classics that changed the game... and all pre-1996, that tells you something about the quality of rap coming out nowadays. These are albums you can put in the CD player and play start to finish without skipping a track

Re: Your Top 5 Hip Hop Albums Of All Time

Keep in mind these are just my favorites

Makavelli
E40- In a major way
E40- Loyalty/Betrayal
KRS1- Sex and Violence
Ludacris- Back for the first time

Probably not considered the best by the hip hop majority, but they're some of my favorites. Just be happy i even like the music considering where i grew up and what i usually listen to.

Re: Your Top 5 Hip Hop Albums Of All Time

^ Personally i can do that to atleast 3 of tupacs albums
and they take the top 3 spots on my list

1)Tupac-Better Dayz (double cd, all songs are amazing)
2)Tupac-All Eyez on Me (double cd, amazing songs)
3)Tupac-Resurrection Album (was damn good)
4)Nas-I am
5)Nas-Stillmatic

Didnt like the illmatic as much as i did "i am" and "stillmatic" although many people would disagree.

btw: These are more rap then hiphop, but i thought i'd put them up seeing as how some people have mentioned tupac etc.

Re: Your Top 5 Hip Hop Albums Of All Time

The two tupac albums i can listen to all the way through are Makavelli and All Eyes on Me. I can listen to just about any E40 album all the way through to.

Rap is Hip Hop... Hip Hop isnt music its everything, rap is an element of Hip Hop, like DJing and breakdancing.

I am... and stillmatic are great albums, but you like them more than It Was Written too? I think It Was Written was better, with songs like The Message, Street Dreams and Affirmitive Action. Those songs are incredible
