WTB: 5sfe or 3sge

howdy everyone...

my 1990 celica gts went out on me a month ago... i am looking for a new/used motor to replace it... i'd prefer a 5sfe... but i think a 3sge would also do... does anyone have one lying around... i doubt it... but if you have friends who's been wanting to get rid of their celica or motor... deffinitely, let them know i'd be very interested... price is negotiable...

u lokin for more Hp or are u lookin for just a cheap replacment?
are you doing this urself/how much knowledge u have cuz u chould just buy a jdm 3sgte and use the bottem end and turbo and injectors from it on ur 5sfe and ud have about a 180 hp fwd celica

why a 5sfe.... it's in my league... and besides, I know the 3sgte needs more modifications than every thinks... I've done some research on it... it's just way too spendy for me... and besides, I am just looking for a nice comfty ride... and I am also thinking about turboing it... if I do get the chance... for now... I am more concerned about getting my celica running again...

what was wrong with ur old 5sfe? if its the lower end, u might as well just do a hybrid w a 5sfe head and a 3sgte bottem end and stuff like i said in the post above, it wouldnt be that much more expensive...

figure ur gunna spend at least $500 for the 5sfe
you coulg get a 2nd gen 3sgte for about $800 shipped...just use ur F head with a new head gasket timing belt and head studs, and use the 3sgte bottem end and turbo/intercooler/eexcetra....and use ur exsiting wiering harness/eci (you wont have any wiering at all) and either re tune ur ecu or get an aftermarket fuel managment system like an safc and you would be set...

do some online research, you can get just the motor and stuff on ebay for that much, dont look for front clips you dont need them try

..it's deffnitely something to take in considerate... my engines gone over 2 life times... it has 210xxx miles... i figured, if i was going to do something, why not start it with something newer...

oh yea btw you can also swap all ur internals over from the 3sgte head, i.e.e valves valvesprings and etc, the cams wont work but you could just try to find other cams or have ur cumstom made (ouch $$$$) but yea its just a thoguht

there was a 5sfe with internals of a supra head in the 5sfe, valves, springs, ported and polished , headers exhasut and intake that dynoed at 200 wheel HP and had no block work ...so keep that in mind
