Unhappy need help with carb efi swap in 83 toyo p/u

well i'm having a little touble with the swap. i have an 83 toyota pickup and i pulled the old 22r and dropped in a 22re that i rebuilt myself. the engine has good compression good spark and it turns over great. But i'm having troubles with some of the wiring. i got an ecu, wiring harness, coil and igniter and everything. The new wiring harness is hooked up to the engine but i left the old harness in place for the cab and accesories. but my problem is i'm not getting a signal or pulse to the injectors. but i have a really good pulse at the coil. and i know the wiring from the ecu is fine cause theres continuity between the wires all the way to the coil. but i cant figure out why im not getting a signal and i know someone out there knows cause people do this all the time. and what is the yellow wire coming off the igniter for i know the green grey and blue wires(starting from the left of the igniter) goto the ecu connectors Ne Igt and Igf. then the red and white go to the distributor. then the brown goes to the positive sideof the coil and ignition. then theres a YELLOW wire?????????????? what is it for i cant find it on any wiring diagram anywhere is it important. then finally the eighth wire a black going to the negative side of the coil. So if anyone can give me a hint on why i'm not getting a signal to the injectors. your knowlege would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
brad
