Just wondering where the plugs are. Can't seem to see them real clearly under the Jeep, and there is a big plate in the way on the bottom of the tranny. Do I have to remove this to drain the tranny? What side are the plugs on? The owners manual is not real clear......

well, it was easier than i thought. the drain plug is on one side, and the fill on the other. there is a diagram in the owners manual on the orientation. follow it and you will be ok. smooth sailing now!

Re: anyone changed trans fluid in a manual wrangler
If you don't want to drop the skidplate (or your bolts are sticky), use a short length of hose in the drain hole to direct the fluid into your drainpan.

Re: anyone changed trans fluid in a manual wrangler
changing trany fluid is no sweat. theres a fill plug on the passenger side. just pop the floor plug out and run a flexible tube attached to a funnel through the floor on the passenger side into the open fill hole. at the bottom of the trany theres a single bolt. pop that out to drain the oil. i put almost 4 quarts in. (only took 1 out)
