I don't know if this new news or old news but did anybody else read in AUtomobile magazine May 2002 vol 17 no.2 about the new base price for the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII. Well in the magazine it sytates that the new base price is 37,500.00 dollars well I am not the smartest person in the world but that isn't under 30,000.00 dollars like they said. Well maybe it is a typo. Hopefully it is or I am getting the wrx.

lies...
i think it was a typo man... in "Import Tuner" magazine wich i got like yesterday... it said this:
"... For now, Mitsubishi will only say the engine will be developing "more than 250 rabid horses." We're not quite sure if a rabid horse is acctually more powerful than a regular horse, but we'll go with the metaphor for the time being. Furthermore, Mitsubishi states the Evo will carry a price tag less than $30,000" that is not the whole article but if you would like to hear the rest of it... I will type it out for you guys... |

Wrrrrrrong.... The STI costs Euro 48.395 (normal) (that's 30.411 before taxes)and Euro 51.795 (Prodrive edition) (thats 32.482 before taxes). The EVO VII costs Euro 60.000 (some 39.000 before taxes.) Furthermore. Compared to most other countries in Europe the STI is much more expensive here. Sooooo........ Nico van Steen Netherlands |

you guys in europe are getting screwed over the sti, my friend stationed in japan tells me sti's cost more then vii's over there. well, i dunno about europe but either way, nothing to worry it'll be under 30k (before dealer markup because i know they will be marking them up) because if it isnt under 30k mitsubishi of america will look like a joke for making a offer they couldnt back up.

When the first batch of Evo 7's arrive I doubt it will be under 30k. All new cars that are hot will sell at a premium. Definately a dealer mark up. Shit im paying 60k for my Evo 7 in Malaysia so dont complain over those few grands. Just wait and see until it comes out. 30k too cheap for a car that is being imported from Japan with all taxes. Dont get too happy with the under 30k price
