maxima man myself, but want to work on my mom's cirrus

My mom's Cirrus has too many problems to even start to address. One thing I'd like to remedy are her brakes. She has a 97 i believe and i forget if that year they still had the discs up front and drums in the back. Anyhow, what aftermarket brand should I use. or is OEM the best to use.

Also, on my maxima, I know cleaning the throttle body does wonders. any effects on the cirrus? it seems like I just unscrew the airbox housing and take it off. Are there any larger, in depth forums with how-to's and illustrations? Thanks.
