Problem with Copy Accord 2001 Key
I heard accord 2001 key has a built in chip on the head of the key. I only have 1 key and i want make another copy but then my friend say it gona cost me like $100 at the dealer. he said the key is built in with chip therefore the dealer or lock smith have to program and make it.
In general the key only cost about 2 bucks to make but programming the chip is the problem. does anyone know how to program it? |

Re: Problem with Copy Accord 2001 Key
The dealers can also clone the key usinc a key from the Ilco manucfacturer. Its usuall alot cheaper than 130 for and original.
If you cut a honda key only a honder scan tool can be used because there is a special rolling code that needs to be entered in order to program it. However cloning just duplicates the current keys transponder info into the new key so check with the local dealer and see if they can make you a duplicate that way.
