No Upshift Light
I have a 1997 Wrangler SE 5 speed w/146K that shows a trouble code # 37. I found on the web that for the manual trans. this code is for no upshift light. Is their a relay or fuse that controls this light. Code 37 is the only DTC I get when I do the code scan other than the begining # 12 and the end # 55.Thanks

Re: No Upshift Light
Is this the "Dumby gear shift light" that comes on to tell you to change gears? I got the same thing on my '93 YJ. At first it was comical, now I never see it on ever. I probably have same codes u get, but I got no check engine light.

Yes, it's the shift light on the dash. When I turn the key on it comes on for a few seconds then goes off but it dose'nt come on while I'm moving through the gears. My check engine light comes on with the code 37. I'm assuming the check engine would'nt come on if I could figure out why my upshift light was'nt working and fix it. I don't know how the light physically works, thought maybe their was a relay or fuse that might be the problem. Will probably have to get a wiring diagram and go from their. Thanks for the comment

Re: No Upshift Light
I was happy when mine went away -- If I wanted the computer to tell me when to shift, I'd have bought an Automatic!
