Does any1 know why the number 666 is a bad, devil's number?

It's associated with the end of the world in the bible. The origin is from Babylon. They had 36 gods and if you add the numbers up (1+2+3+4...etc) all the way to 36 it adds up to 666 and is known as the pantheon. And in the bible this has somehow come to represent the end of the world and an association with the devil.

144,000 is divided by the Number of the Beast, the resulting number is 216.216.216.... As luck would have it, 216 also happens to be the cube of six -- 6 * 6 * 6

I only wanted to make my 666th post an off topic post... wow it really did become an off topic one at that!!!!!
I also learned a few things like.. barney is evil...a bunch of mathematical things... even the reason why it is associated with the devil!!! All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Mathematical theory and science has always really interested me. All of you should pick up the movie "Pi". It's all about mathematical theory and stuff, as well as how numbers relate to the universe and such. I really enjoyed the movie, as it also has a cool twist on the plot (its not like a documentary about numbers or anything). It's directed by the same person that directed "Requiem for a Dream", and this movie is a weird/paranoid movie as well. Just about every Blockbuster rental place has it, so go pick it up

It's really quite interesting how numbers and mathematics can be related to just about everything in nature. Eh, I'm getting off topic....
