Re: 94 Sl2 To 95 Sc2 Engine Swap

the only problem you will have is the EGR, your 94 may have an electric or vaccum EGR, the 95 has a electric EGR. if the 94 does have a vacuum EGR, you will need this adapter plate - http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/sho...p/photo/18397/

Thanks Again , I'll Let You Know How The Swap Goes ...
Another Question :
I Took A Compression Test On My 95 Sc2 And The Results Were :

Cylinders #1 #2 #3 #4
Dry 207 185 208.5 205
Wet 251 241 270 295
All Tests Were Done With All Spark Plugs Removed And 10 Cranks And The Throttle Full Open :
Can You Tell Me Why In The Dry Test The Lowest To Highest Cyl. Is Within 12% And The Wet Test Is All Over The Place ? , I Used The Same Amout Of Oil In Each Test ... Also What Should An Sc2 Read In Good Shape Per Cyl. This Motor Has 184,000 On It And Had A Spun Bearing On Cyl. #2 ... Next Question From These Results Can You Tell What Needs Repair Rings Or Valves ? ? ? Thanks Bob

Re: 94 Sl2 To 95 Sc2 Engine Swap

you should have a minimum of 180psi after 10 strokes and no more then 10% difference between cylinders. a high reading may be caused by carbon build-up, a low reading is commonly a mechincal problem. if the problem is in the rings, compression should increase greatly for a wet test( as it did, but 295 is to high IMHO, bet you have massive carbon build-up too.)

http://www.dsmgrrrl.com/FAQs/compression.htm

a leakdown test should be used to find where you are losing compression.

http://www.geocities.com/dsmgrrrl/FAQs/leakdown.htm

i would say replace the rings no matter what since they are coming out for the spun bearing. then depending on the leak-down test, visual test, and other measurement will determine if head work should be done.

Re: 94 Sl2 To 95 Sc2 Engine Swap

I'm Going To Do The Compression Test Again And Another Wet Test , From The Directions You Gave Me On Line , If Needed I'll Get The Gages And Do A Leak Down Test , Also The Motor Burns A Quart Of Oil Every Couple Of Hundred Miles , So I Put In Heavy Oil Like Stp , The Motor Also Makes The Oil Very Dirty And Delueted Very Fast . I Usually Change My Oil Every 2000 Miles On All My Cars But This One I Change Every 1000 As The Oil Gets Too Dirty Too Fast , Thats Why I Want To Put The 94 Motor In It ...
ALSO HOW CAN I GET RID OF THE CARBON BUILD UP ? ? ? , WILL FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER IN THE GAS HELP AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ? ? ?
IS THERE ANY WAY TO TAKE THE MOTOR OUT WITH OUT TAKING THE TRANNY OUT ON THE 1995 SATURN SC2 VICE VERSA , TAKE THE TRANNY OUT WITHOUT TAKING THE MOTOR OUT ? ? ? THE TRANNY IS A 5 SPEED ? ? ? THANKS AGAIN
