2001+ radio with RDS

I have a 1999 Alero GL with a stock AM/FM cassette radio in it. How can I make it possible to install a 2001+ CD/AM/FM with RDS radio in it? Is it impossible?

No you can't use a RDS radio in a 99-00. The reason is, the 01-04's radios are connected to the cars class 2 data bus. This bus allows the radio to talk to the BCM. The BCM tells the radio when to turn on, when to turn off, when to sound the chimes, and it also controls the Theftlock feature. The BCM's that are in the 99-00's can't do these functions.
