Best place to stay short term

I have a question. What is the best place to stay for short-term, like a month, maybe two. Looks like I'll have an internship for the summer, and I need to find some living arrangements. I have no family there, so can't freeload. I tried calling some 1-bedroom apartments that are available for like $400/month, but they won't rent for short term. I also looked at Extended stay america, but that would cost $1000/month. I'm disgusted by those "Budget Inn"s that you see on the TV show "Cops". What is the best place to stay for short term, relatively cheap?

Re: Best place to stay short term

Look for a room in someone's house.

Does the city you're in have a college or university? If they do, you can search for rooms just for the summer when the students go home.

Like he said: room in someone's house. Kinda a pain, but cheap. Especially if there's no lease agreement involved.

Ask your employer. They should be able to find something for you with relative ease.

Depending on where you're going you could probably camp...I mean sure you won't be able to take showers as often as other people would like you to but it's pretty damned cheap!!

Problem already solved. One of the employees at the company is willing to rent me a room.
