Tensioner

I need to replace my power steering pump. To do this I need to release the belt, and am not sure which pulley is the tensioner. Any help/diagrams?

I am pretty sure its the far bottom, left pulley, if you look at the belt from the passenger side of the car... but I don't want to unbolt things just to f-up my car (worse than it is already)

Its going to be the one that is under the alternator. I wish I had a diagram, but I don't. BTW, you don't need to unbolt anything to get the belt off. Just get a wrench and pull the tensioner back enough to where you can pull the belt off.

Thanks Jeremy. I was almost certain that was the one. Its anchored at the top, and an arm vee's down to connect with the pulley at the bottom.

I tried using a wrench on the nut at the top, the only one visible on that assembly, and stopped short because it seemed only to loosen the nut. It did not visibly move the arm. Do I need to take that nut off before I can move the tensioner?

Look down at the bottom of the tensioner towards the narrow part of the V. There is a square slot either 3/8 or 1/2 inch. That is where you should be able to move the tensioner as Jeremy suggested. Its a tight fit in there.

BTW - Make sure the pulley nut is tight or properly torqued since it was inadvertently loosened.
