I got a 94 prelude si h23. My car has 152,000 miles on it. Im not sure if the timing belt had been changed or not. Do you think i should change it anyways or what????I know it wont hurt to change it but is it worth doin it right away just to be safe.

thanks

Re: timing belt

I would say you should. Also theres a recall on the 4th gen preludes Timing Tensioners. I would say replace that too...Maybe even your water pump and a full tune up if you havent already.

Re: timing belt

I would recommend replacing with a complet kit. I found my kit at www.honparts.net at a good price.
also at this time check your cam seals and water pump because you are looking at them when you change your belt.

Re: timing belt

Yeah there is a recall on them...they dont keep the belt properly tensioned, so if you shift hard or go from like 1st or 2nd gear to a higher gear (skipshift) like into 5th, the belt gets slack in it and it can bend your valves...i had a car at work that this happened to...good idea to replace it
