Camshaft

hi, i just got a 1980 Z28, it needs restoration, but once i get it started what i really want from it is performance over looks. I know it comes stock with 190 hp and 280 torque and i want to know how much hp and torque i can get out of a good camshaft?

Re: Camshaft

tough one. alot of variables there, a helluva lot of variables. id say a rough overall estamate would be 10-50hp, and similar torque numbers depending on what other parts you have and other mods you make.

Re: Camshaft

should be able to squeeze 305 horse out of it with a camand good exaust and an intake easily 305
ij told you can squeeze the horse per inch out of only the cam but im sce3ptical so i say cam,+ intake + exaust = 1 horse per cubic inch, and dont forget to have good injection be it injected or be it carb
if its injected probably only need exaust and cam to get the inch per horse good luck
