Re: ticking sound when turning
Ok, There are a lot of ways that someone can diagnose this. However, for all we know, you could be driving a Mirage, or an Evo. It would help drastically, and I'll say this before everyone flips out on you, that you need to include the car to which you are talking about. Be it turbo, or non turbo. If you could provide more information, such as where the ticking is coming from, in a general area, ( something that should be able to be narrowed down within a few mintues ) it would help drastically. It was once said "A problem well stated, is problem half solved" (CiteSource.Kevin.sig.&coolquotes)

Re: ticking sound when turning
No not really... it can be narrowed down to basically the steering system. And yes he does need to put his car info in his signiature
...and I highly doubt he is driving a mirage or an evo... why else would he be in the eclipse/talon/laser forum?WELCOME TO AF.COM wickidest27!!!! 1990 eagle talon is what his profile says... I would suggest raising up both front tires with back tires chocked and ebraked of course and see if it still makes the sound when you turn the wheel back and forth...either you or a friend listen for where the sound is coming from to get a better idea...that or with the car on all fours and listen...

Re: ticking sound when turning
I'm guessing CV joints as well, as awbr said, check the boots, and make sure that they're not ripped or cracked or anything. but chances are, they are
all you're probably going to have to do is get them rebuilt
