Question adld comp. which wires to use for codes

have 95 jimmy with 16 adld plug which ones do you use to check for obd codes ses light on and can't get code out to see what problem is.

16 pin?
16 pin is DLC. 12 pin is ALDL.That means your ECM is under the hood, on the right fender mounted, over the reservoir? That is an OBD II compliant system, which means you have to use a scan tool.

Forgot to mention Autozone will read the codes for free, but you have to tell them it is OBDII, like the 96+.

95 was the transition year between OBDI (the kind you can pin) and OBDII(the kind that has to be read with a scan tool) some of them got the old ones and some got the new ones. The OBDII wasn't standardizied until 96, so some of the guys at autozone may give you a hard time about testing a 95.

was told you can read a 16 pin using either th 3&4 pin or the 5&6 pin but nothing there but what is the plug under the dash then it has 16 pins??????????

also under hood on tune up tag it says obd 1 so now what will probably go to autozone if nobody knows.

also ever thing i have read says obd 1 and that the diagnostic plug is under the dash on drivers side. help!!!!!!!!

First off, are you going to actually listen to us? Or are you going to question and argue with us like we know nothing......

Go to autozone and get the codes scanned by a OBDII scanner like Blazee said.

That is how you get the codes on a 1995.

I own one, I know this.
