110 Octane Race Fuel in 454
I was just recently up at silver lake and one gas station right by the sand dunes carries 110 octane racing fuel.(leaded). would that be a wrong kind a gas to put in my 454 that has no cats at all so the lead cant screw them up. It only was 3.50 a gallon and they also carried premium there for 2.35 a gallon, which is dang cheap. which would be safer for my truck, 94 octane or 110?
I also had another question, this guy put in .25 acetone and it increased his gas mileage by 50%, what is acetone and can i use it in my truck or in my little rice burner(escort). thanks

Re: 110 Octane Race Fuel in 454
acetone is a de-greaser, and there have been many writeups on adding it to your fuel for better mpg's. Do a search to find out more.
A stock 454...110 octane will do nothing for you. The only time you need/want to put in a high octane fuel is if your engine has a lot of compression. It would simply be a waste of money for you to use it. |
