I went under my car to see is my oil pan is leaking, it looks like its coming from the oil sending unit. So do I neeed a new oil sending unit or is their a gasket or something?

Re: oil leaking. Oil sending unit?

are you sure it's not coming from the front crank seal? that's what happened to me. i had a leak near the corner of the pan and replaced everything and it was still there. pulled off the timing belt cover and it was pouring out from behind the crankshaft timing belt pulley. i just replaced the front seal and i'm now puttin it back together.

Re: oil leaking. Oil sending unit?

mine only leaked when the car was running too. replacing the front seal is one step farther than a timing belt job.

you take off all the necessary components to do a timing belt, take off the timing belt and then pull off the timing belt crankshaft pulley. to do this you'll need a puller. don't use the jaw type pullers though, you'll break the crank pulley. use the type that you have to use bolts for. you'll need 3 (i got 4 in case i broke one) 6" 6MM metric bolts with a 1.0 thread pitch. i got mine at mac's. they're kinda hard to find them that long. be sure to soak the crank pulley and shit down good with pb blaster the day before and spray it on about 10 minutes before you pull it off. pull off the crank pulley and there will be a seal inside of it. i just used a screwdriver to pull it out.

to put the new seal in i used a socket that had the same diamater of the metal part of the seal and tapped it into place lightly. you'll then need to put the crank pulley back on in the same manor. using a socket that's a little bigger than the inside diamater of the crank pulley and make sure they key stays lined up straight. put that all the way on and then basically do a timing belt job. i put on a new timing belt as long as i had everything off.

he's got a gs. have you replaced the valve cover gasket lately?? they leak off the backside sometimes and it makes quite a mess down the backside of the engine.
