Re: muffler opinion

I have a dynomax muffler and I love the sound of it. I have also heard a few good things about magnaflow. However, Borla is known very well for their products so they obviously make good shit, the downfall to borla is the price.

As far as flowmaster goes, I personally don't like the sound they produce. Their products are just too loud and sometimes accentuate the strange noises of engines. But if you do decide on flowmaster go with the quieter ones (flowmaster 50's I think) they are a little better than the extremely loud ones (Flowmaster 80's).

Re: muffler opinion

Borla if you have the money, if not Magnaflow. They are stainless unlike Flowmaster so won't rust, are straight thru (wel Borla is adjustable) for better flow, and have nice meaty tones.

I put a Flowtech Terminator muffler on my 91 Camaro and it sounds awsome. The price is good and it's painted black so it looks and sounds good as well. They say it outperforms flowmaster...

Check it out on my cardomain web site...www.cardomain.com/id/bag91

Re: muffler opinion

well actually flowmaster is louder the lower in numbers u go like i got a flowmaster 70 series i think the ones spec. for the camaros and its much quieter than the 40 or 50 series flowmaster but still quite throaty. borla is nice but is very expensive not really seen or heard the other two so couldnt say i guess its all accordin to what your lookin to spend. but if its performance your goin for i dont see how any muffler could help much over another w/ out the pipes and headers being changed. mabey a slight better throttle response but any free flowin muffler should provide that over stock for u i would think.

Re: muffler opinion

the only real difference between aftermarket exhaust systms is the sound and quality. I would have to see back to back dyno tests on a single car to show me that one company offered more power than another. I put a flowmaster american thunder system on my car. its stainless steel, and sounds awesome. the GMMG system is my wet dream, the dynomax on my RS sounded fine, choose an exhaust based on sound rather than its "performance" advantage.
