'84 S15 wont start

my truck was running ok the day b4, i was having troubles starting it but it turned out it was the primary choke pulloff valve that wasn't opening up the choke so i fixed that. it started fine a the few times it was able to b4 it just stopped. although everytime i turned off the engine it ran on for a bit, rumbling to a stop. not sure if that was excess gas in the carb or if it was electrical cuz the lights seem to dim and brighten as it rumbles.

anyways, i went to start it, i turn the key and the dash lights and everything gets power but when i turn the key to crank the engine...nothing happens. the starter doesn't even click or anything just nothing happens. it sounds like its not getting power but i dont know where the starter is to check this. anybody have this problem and/or know where the starter might be?
