1974 corvette will not start

About a week ago I took my vette out and it ran fine. The next day it will not start at all. The engine will turn over like normal, but the engine will not start at all even with starting fluid. It seems to be getting fuel so the problem must lie elsewhere. I have never messed with a distributer before so I am not exactly sure how to test it. Any help or ideas on what the problem would is would be much appreciated.

Check for spark at the plugs (remove #1 wire from plug, insert nail in plug, hold wire by boot with nail about 1/2" away from metal part/frame and crank engine) If you don't see any spark arcing, you're ignition module is the problem. It's located inside the distributor. Just remove the cap (2 push-down & turn screws), remove rotor, and the module is right there.

Thanks for the help. I hope it turns out to be something simple. I will give it a try this afternoon and let you know what happened.

I am sorry for taking so long with an update. I did the test as suggested and did not have any spark. I then took the module to be tested it and it tested ok. I then hooked a multimeter to the coil and it tested fine. After cleaning the connections and putting it back together the engine started without a problem. I will not have time to take it for a drive for a couple days though.
