'91 2.2 rs alternator wire

New alternator and batt. Alt. is not charging the battery. Looks like the red wire (about 10 gauge) from the Alternator "B terminal" frayed or the crimp connector came off. It looks like there is also a fusable link in the wire, but I cant tell. I cannot find the other end of the wire that the frayed wire connected too. I need to splice this wire form the alternator to the battery. I have traced the wiring bundles - there should be a mate to this frayed wire and I am not seeing it. Anyone with hands on in replacing the alternator or charging system wiring in this or similar J car - thanks. Unfortunately Haynes manuals just dont help for this type problem.
