car does not stay on ? help

i have a 2001 ae maxima with about 40,000 miles my serivce engine soon light came out on my dashboard ? and when i start the car it started right up but it does stay on i have to keep my foot on the gas pedal when i let it go the rpm's drop and the car shut off it does idle
what could it be please somebody help before i take it to a shop & they rip me off ? thanks everybody for the help?

does this change after warmup?

if its only while cold, points possibly to TPS, 100$

shop will rip u off with MAF, but dont let them without proof.

light reset: take batt neg cable off for 30min.

i had my shutting off at low rpms and it was the eng coolant temp sensor (i had my friend get my error codes from my ecu).. i replaced that and the car hasnt shut off since

that temp sensor =TS does not kill healthy engine. if TS is broken, engine control will never use warm engine setting =O2 sensor.

ECU controls the engine with TS resistance input. after TS resistance drops (=warm engine), warmed O2 sensor will be used in engine ctrl. cold engine does not use O2 sensor. (when engine is cold, throttle pos sensor TPS is used instead of O2.)

if TPS is bad, TS broken, then there might arise problems.

car shutting off

i got the car fixed my problem was my throttle body?

Do you have the specifics on this problem? I just wonder what can go wrong there... loose screws? Anyways good news.
