Question tensioner

hey there,i changed my sc pulley to a 3.4, now for some reason when the car goes under 1 grand the sc belt viberates from the top of the sc to the next pulley closest to the front ,could this be the tensioner spring going bad. if i push on the top of the belt, with a little force , the tensioner moves some is there any way to get a small belt i bought the gatorback belt the one everyone gets please help me thanks..... i bought a 3.5 tensioner pulley, when it gets here i will put it on and see if it fixed it

wow 26 people have looked at this and no one can give any info, i even sent larry and PM and he looked at it and didnt even reply lol o well ill find someone that knows there stuff about the GP

you said that the tensioner moves when you press on teh belt...have you tightened the tensioner pulley? and are you sure you got the right size belt...if there is a manufacture defect (it happens) the belt would say it was the right size but might be just a tad longer.

when it drops under 1k rpm the centrifical force isn't as strong so it could cause slack on the belt = looser = vibrating a little...

Sounds like you need to replace the tensioner,since you have a 97.

hey there i got the over size pulley for the tensioner, is there a way to make the spring tighter? it doesnt seem to slow the car down, at the track tonight the fastest time was a 14.57 at 94.30 mph just a little noisey when it goes under 1000 rpm
