90 camaro hell

i just bought a 90 camaro 3.1 v-6, and i'm having a few problems..
it stalls when i hit the gas but not all the time, when it starts stalling it does it alot. i also have no interior lights (gauge cluster, console anything) and half my gauges don't work (tach, oil pressure ) the tach maxes out as soon as you turn the key and the oil pressure jumps around like a skitzo.. this is my third third gen camaro i've owned but it has the most problems... any help will greatly be appreciated

Re: 90 camaro hell

sounds like a neglected POS... and why did you buy this again?? please tell me you got it for $100. If it's running this bad I'm sure everything else has been neglected, so check everything(oil, coolant, etc).

anyway,
-reset ECU by disconnecting battery for 5mins.
-check that spark plug wires are going to the correct cylinders. (use manual)
-look for wires (in the engine bay) that have been tampered with or heated up severely (by the exhasut manifolds).
-use Haynes repair manual to get the error codes from your ECU (pretty easy), check corresponding sensors according to the manual.
-replace accessory fuse in the fuse box which is located above and to the left of the brake pedal. check all other fuses too, get the fuse tester.
