brighter lights

okay, im having a problem being able to see at night in my car. i want to get some type of light that will make it easier to see at night. these lights are actually for my sunfire, i love the lights on my eclipse. would you suggest just getting those "super white light" bulbs? or buy driving lights or what? i dont really care what looks good on that car, i just want to be able to see. if anyone has expierience with either the bulbs or new lights, let me know how well they work please. thanks in advance

and ps, i search and it brought up a shit-ton of results that werent even about my topic (ex. neons, guage lights, altezza's)

Re: brighter lights

A while ago, the agreement was that Silverstars are a good bulb. Better than that is a non-stock housing or an HID retrofit in stock housing. Search tuners for some stuff like that.

Re: brighter lights

i would start by making sure your headlights are aimed right. most shops can check this. in my state (PA) we are required to have the equipment for state inspections

I put in some "hyper white" bulbs I bought offa Ebay for like $40 with shipping. For the money, they are pretty damn nice. Really bright, with a slight blue hue to them. Definately worth it IMO. BTW, don't pay more than $50 for all 4 bulbs with shipping, and buy the insurance, cuz its only like an extra $2, but saves a lot of hassle if UPS smashes them. Noticable difference in brightness at night.

Re: brighter lights

make sure they're aimed correctly and if they are, check the lenses for fogging. that can cause major light problems. hid kit's are badass but expensive and some aftermarket lights don't fit exactly perfect.

I had a long thread a couple of months ago about headlights and bulbs, I'll see if I can find it for you. Basically I was in the same boat as you, I do a lot of night driving so I would like to see better and put less fatique on myself. Def check your headlight aim, mine was wayyyyy off. So I reaimed it and it was better. Then I was deciding between silverstars and PIAA super plasmas. I figure what the hell, I'll spend more money for once and see if they are better. So I bought the PIAA super plasmas, which are only avaliable in Japan for our bulb size. They are a lot better then the old bulbs I had, although I can't tell you if they are worth the extra money over Silverstars since I've never used them, so thats something for you to decide. One thing I was worried about though is the bulb life, since these "brighter" bulbs burn hotter, they tend to have less life, so I didn't want to spend 80 bucks for something that only lasts 3 months. Well I've had mine for about 5 months now, and its still going strong.(knock on wood). So think about how much you are willing to spend, more money def equals a better quality bulbs, since you are looking for brighter bulbs already theres no need to cheap out on those cheap ebay ones, def buy good brand name ones.
