First time waxer

I know Mcguires(sp) is suppose to be the best wax to use, luckly they have that at the store here. I have a 2003 Jetta, Black.

My options at the local store is the Gold clear coat wax (both liquid and paste) or the Cleaner wax for scratches and swirls. Which is better or if you have another suggestion then I'd like to hear that too. Are there other products that I should get too?

Re: First time waxer

i use merguiars gold class and I have absolutely no problems with it; it does the job well.

also, i recommend getting some glaze.
glaze really glossed up my car. klasse makes some good glazes. infact, i just purchased some, and all i have to say is, "damn". i have no experience with other glazes, so i say buy klasse.

finally, i suggest getting a few microfiber towels. they really help when it comes to buffing off coats of wax.

Re: First time waxer

Meguiars NXT is supposedly thier longest lasting wax. it should be available locally. You could also pick up a polish if you have any swirl marks or other marring. Meguiars #9 is a good product. The advice about a glaze is good as well, it will really add depth and gloss to the paing and be sure to pick up some MF towels, they really help in the removal of products.

I highly recommend Klasse products as well as Poorboy's, Menzerna, and P21S...
