Loud popping noise, when I open the door.

Its so loud and embarassing, when the door is ALMOST half-way open, it goes 'Errrr-POP!'. Also, it sometimes will make a weird sort of, barking sound, and creaks from the time I open it, to the time its all the way open...and back again, also with the loud POP! in the middle.

Anyone know why? Do I just need some PB Blaster, or WD-40?...

WD-40 will for but for a couple weeks, you need to replace the part, its what connects your door to your car, same thing happend to my car, but I never fixed it. I just kept spraying it.

try spraying some graphite lubricant where your door pivots. that might cure it for awhile.

I used some "green slime" the stuff used for grease xerxes and stuff... as for the popping.. my car did it and it was the connection from the door to the body that was getting worn out with about 1/16" - 1/8" play and when the tension released it "popped"... I just lived with it...

I had this problem and so do alot of others simply look at the hinge area there will be a black bar connecting door to body with some brass colored nuts holding this to the in side of the door , open the door half way and take some locktite to the threads of the nuts and tighten them down. tight
