Engine light ON ...

I havent done the diagnostic on the ECU yet and will prob do it this week, but i did disconnect the battery to see if it would reset and go away, and i had the battery disconnected for about 3 hours or so and then i started the car up and the light was there like nothing was reset, usually it should go off and then maybe come on later but does it mean anything if its on even after reset?

long time no see. yea engine lights on in a 240 you can either waste months findin out whats wrong or you can just ignore it. it maybe that nothing is worng

Check the code. Fix the problems. Then follow this to turn off the light.

* Find the computer(Behind the plastic piece by the passenger foot
* Pull it out
* Turn your key to the on position
* You will see a flathead screw looking bolt on 1 side of the computer. Turn this fully clockwise
* Wait at least 2 seconds
* Turn it back to fully counterclockwise
* This will then show the trouble code - (The check engine light will blink to show this, for instance, blink..blink..blink......blink..blink, will be 32)
* After you read the code, you can start the engine
* Turn the bolt back to the clockwise position for at least 2 seconds(While running)
* Turn it back to the counterclockwise position
* Now shut the car off and then start it again, this should of removed the code.

damn iv never had an engine light go on. Except for the time i left half of my engine on the highway. And my engines are complete shit mind you. Well maybe it should be on, but the light just doesnt work!!! its a mystery.

it doesnt bother me on at all, its just that i wont be able to pass smog with the light on. I mean usually if you disconnect the battery it will reset the codes and the light will stay off for hopefully a day, and that can be enough time to pass the smog, but i did that, battery was disconnected for 3 hours... and plugs it back in and started and the engine light was still there.

Ill just have to try to figure out what it is. I did change the intake and thats when i got the light, but dont know if it will have anything to do with the intake.

I did the code check and i got 3 long 3 short so 33 , i then started the engine and did the same clockwise then wait a few seconds then countercloskwise back and turned off the engine and then started the engine and the engine light was gone, but then i turned off and turned on the engine again and the engine light was back.

whats 33 for a 95 240? anyone has the chart?

ok i got a ECU diagram chart... Front O2 sensor. This is the one on the header itself am i correct? There is 2 sensors one on the header and one after the cat. So, does this mean my sensor is bad and id have to replace it and it should be good to go? How much are they by any chance? Thanks.

first thing did you double check if its plugged tight? just check all of that first i doubt its bad.

Hey man, haven't posted in while, do you not like us anymore? J/k .
Stock O2 sensors tend to go bad at around 100000 miles. It might be the connection, or you sensor is dead, good place to get new ones is www.oxygensensors.com, they have pretty good prices and the sensors are OEM (no cutting required).

well i did check the sensor i unpluged it and made sure it was pluged in good, tomorrow ill try and try to reset the ECU and see if it will take away the engine light if not then i guess im gonna have to buy myself a new O2 thanks for the link.

finally no more check engine light!!!, just to correct you on one part... To clear all stored codes and turn off the check engine light, turn the ‘mode selector’ screw fully clockwise. Wait at least 2 seconds, then turn the screw all the way back counter clockwise. Then start the car. This is after you read the code and pretty much do the same steps again from start.
